Terms of use

The ground rules between you and Allociao — in plain language.

Purpose

Allociao is a mobile app that performs two functions. First, the filtering of incoming calls: every number is checked against known number ranges and against community reports, then the call is let through, flagged as suspect, or hung up. Second, content checking at your request: you submit a text, an image, a document or a link, and the app tells you the signs of a scam it recognises in it. The app does not read any message on its own initiative.

Free of charge

The app is free. Call blocking, personal lists, reports and number checks are subject to no volume limit. Content analysis (text, image, PDF, email, link, QR code, attachment) is capped at three uses per day per device; this cap may change. A paid offer may lift this limit in future, without ever restricting the functions listed above.

"Best effort" operation

Both functions are provided on a best-efforts basis, with no guarantee of result. Filtering may let an unwanted call through or turn away a legitimate one. Content checking may class a fraudulent message as safe, or wrongly flag an honest one: it relies on statistical clues and on lists that change more slowly than fraudsters do. The verdict given is an aid to decision-making and constitutes neither advice, nor a guarantee, nor a certification. It is for you to check for yourself with the organisation concerned, using contact details you already know.

Reports

When you choose to report a number, you affirm that the call seemed unwanted or fraudulent to you and that you're acting in good faith. Abusive reports — for instance, deliberately reporting a legitimate number to harm its owner — are prohibited and may lead to the associated anonymous account being disabled. Allociao reserves the right not to add a report to the block list if it doesn't meet the reliability criteria in use.

Contribution of analysed messages

If you explicitly consent to it, the messages you submit for checking may be passed to us in order to improve detection. This consent is optional, separate from the one covering usage statistics, and revocable at any time in the settings. Refusing it restricts no function. The sender of the message, your contacts and your number are never passed on. The arrangements, the retention periods and your rights are set out in the privacy policy.

Limited liability

The publisher cannot be held liable for the consequences of a call that was not blocked, of a legitimate call wrongly blocked, of a fraudulent message classed as safe, or of an honest message flagged as suspect. The app is an aid; it is a substitute neither for your own vigilance, nor for approaching the competent authorities in the event of fraud.

Intellectual property

The Allociao app, its code, its interface and its brand are protected by intellectual property law. Any unauthorised reproduction, modification or distribution is prohibited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute and failing an amicable resolution, the French courts have sole jurisdiction.

Changes to the terms

These terms may be changed at any time. The version in force is always available on this page. In the event of a substantial change, users will be informed when they open the app. Continuing to use Allociao after notification constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
